The South Fence Machinery Reverse Twist Barbed wire machine has been developed from the company’s extensive experience of more than 95 years in the manufacture of wire fence products and wire fence manufacturing machinery. The RBT-500-AC project has been 10 years in the making and we are proud to now show it to the world.

The Reverse Twist Barbed Wire machine is loaded with new technology including South Fence Machinery’s auto take-up system, pitch drive system and wire in feed management system (patents pending). The automatic take up will change the way manufacturers think about barbed wire production, allowing new and exciting production advantages with autonomous operation and possible integration with robotic/ conveyer systems.

Product Benefits

  • Accurate Barb Pitch - The pitch drive technology is accurate, consistently placing the barbs on the twisted flat of the two twisted lines. This accurate position ensures the barbs are locked onto the flats and are not able to slide out of position.

  • Product Presentation - The winding and torque control of the take-up assembly allows consistent accurate torque control, producing excellent  spool presentation and significantly reduces damage to the barbs during wind up process.

  • Product efficiency - The in-feed system allows for consistent wire delivery to the machine removing the down time associated with wastage and  wire tangles and/or wire breaks. Stopping the machine before wire feed faults occur.

  • Spool Orientation - Vertical spool orientation for easy pallet loading or seamless integration to conveyers and robot pallet stacking. Vertical orientation also ensures machine operators can access the spool handles easily for crane hooks etc when manual unloading is required.

  • Tidy Tail - The cut end of the product is safely tucked under the spool when automatically cut and placed ready for the end user to find. 

  • Barb delete - The machines barb delivery system can be configured to delete barbs at any position and number throughout the spool. This allows the end of the spools to be barbless saving time and effort for user tie off.
